A YOUNG man dodged jail after disfiguring a man in Maybole’s High Society Bar before attacking a woman in the pub.

Nathan Whyte, 23, was ordered to pay £300 to his victim when he returned for sentencing after he admitted to two assault charges.

Whyte, of Dunlop Terrace, admitted punching the man on the head to his injury and permanent disfigurement in the High Society Bar, Ladywell Road back in December 29, 2019.

He pled guilty to then assaulting a woman at the same date and location by seizing her by the throat to her injury.

A not guilty plea to another charge on the indictment was accepted by prosecutors.

When he returned to Ayr Sheriff Court last week [Tuesday, June 8] Sheriff Siobhan Connelly told Whyte she would take in to account he was a first offender despite leaving the man with a scar. Whyte was given a Community Payback Order and placed under supervision of the authorities for six months.

He will also have to pay a compensation order of £300 to the male victim who he left scarred for life.
