A DIRECTOR from Prestwick is hoping to raise funds to make his TV series dream a reality.

Robin De Vernon Ryding is also the creator of Miss Walker, a show about three female actors based in Scotland trying to ‘make it’ in the modern-day film/TV industry.

Robin, 22, under his company's name, Fulfilment Pictures, is trying to produce the series, but at the moment the project is yet to get off the ground.

They’re currently in the early stages and are in the process of producing a TV concept, which is footage of the project in order to give producers, distributors and networks an idea of what their would look and sound like.

They’re aiming to pitch the finished concept to international distributors, such as Channel 4, Netflix and Amazon Prime.

They’re 80 per cent of the way through the concept, having filmed most of it in May this year and they’re hoping to finish it this Summer.

Robin said of the programme: “So, Miss Walker is a TV series about three female actors as they struggle through the highs and the lows of trying to make it as established actors in the film and TV industry in Scotland.”

The team are fundraising in the hope that they can afford to bring in some A-list talent on board with the programme, as well as paying for VFX.

The show’s producer, Euan Brown said of the project: “When you think of Scotland in TV and Film, you might think of drugs, depressing social issues and William Wallace decapitating Englishmen.

“While there’s nothing wrong with these things in TV, we’ve felt for a while now that Scotland has the tools to do much more in the industry and we want to open the door to different kinds of stories being told here.”

Robin added: “If we can just make our passion project, to really help show Scotland as it is, that’s the most important thing for us, when it comes to why we want to get this made in Scotland today.”
