Detectives in South Ayrshire are trying to find the culprit of a wilful fire-raising incident in Ayr, which saw a car go up in flames.
They're appealing for information after the motor was set ablaze on Friday, June 4 around 11.35pm.
Officers were called to the Vauxhall Astra on fire outside flats in Sannox View. No one was injured and the fire is being treated as wilful.
Detective Constable Scott Patterson of Ayr Police Station said: “Since this fire was reported on Friday evening, we have been carrying out enquiries to trace whoever is responsible for setting this car on fire.
“This is a busy residential area and I would urge those who may have seen someone acting suspiciously, or anyone who was in the area of Sannox View with CCTV or dash-cam footage to contact us.
"Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 quoting reference 4415 of 4 June. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
