A SHOP in Ayr is focusing on supporting as many local businesses as possible for as long as they can.

The Wee Shop on Alloway Street in Ayr looks to source local products, help out with foodbanks, and support charities in the area.

Owners, Christine and Alex Moore had looked in to opening the shop last Summer after both were made redundant from their previous jobs.

After a number of delays

due to the pandemic, the

couple finally managed to open their doors at the start of February and have been working to benefit the local community ever since.

Christine said they both wanted to take control of

their life after losing their jobs, adding: “After we were

made redundant, we both wanted to be in control of our own destiny.

“It took a long while to get going, but we were both absolutely certain this is what we wanted to do, despite what has gone on over the last year.”

With support from two grants, Christine and Alex are keen to support other local companies whenever they can.

They have already been supporting Ayrshire Cancer Support, as well as local food banks during the Easter holidays.
