Just two weeks after they've been able to get back to some normality, a popular Prestwick bar has had to shut because COVID has yet again intervened.

What with South Ayrshire having moved into level two on May 17, The Buf had been hoping better times were ahead, and they were reportedly very busy over the weekend.

But sadly, a small number of their staff have come down with the virus and the business has taken the difficult to decision to shut their doors as a precaution.

They issued the following statement on Facebook: "We are sorry to announce following a small number of our team testing positive for COVID we have decided it is in the best interests of staff and customers to voluntarily close for a while.

"This will allow staff to get tested and isolate if required. We are currently awaiting guidance from EHO and working closely with Health Protection Scotland and Test and Protect.

"We will be in contact with everyone who has booked with the next few days to arrange refunds. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope to welcome you back to the BUF soon."
