A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the possession of a firearm in Ayr.
At around 1.25pm on Friday, April 30, cops received a report of a man with a weapon on Elba Street in the town.
Two men, aged 39 and 33, were arrested in relation to the incident, with the 33-year-old later being released following enquiries.
The 39-year-old, however, is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court today, Monday, May 3.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.25pm on Friday, April 30, 2021, police received a report of a man in possession of a firearm on Elba Street in Ayr.
“A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, May 3, 2021.
“A 33-year-old man was also arrested and released following enquiries.”
