It's bad news for one Ayr restaurant, just days after reopening to customers again, they've had to shut their doors as a member of staff has contracted COVID-19.

The unlucky business is 3idiots in Ayr, the popular, award nominated, Indian takeaway and restaurant did all the right things, but now face a period of closure of 10 days.

The member of staff came down with COVID symptoms whilst at home, but the restaurant decided to shut their venue as soon as they heard.

The test result came back positive and so now they will remain closed for the 10 day period although no other staff member tested positive.

In the meantime they'll be carrying out a deep-clean at the venue.

The restaurant issued the following statement on Facebook: "Unfortunately one of our staff members has tested positive for COVID-19.

"We closed as a precaution, when a staff member who was at home began to show symptoms. We have remained closed until a test was confirmed.

"We will continue to remain closed for an isolation period as a precaution - although no other staff members have tested positive - before reopening in approximately 10 days after carrying out a deep clean of the premises.

"We will update on our social media when you can expect to see us reopen.

"Please note all tables up until 07/05/21 will be cancelled, we will try to contact as many customers as possible but as we are doing this from home it may not be possible to contact everyone.

"Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

"Take care and stay safe,

"3idiots."
