TO CONTINUE to spread messages of hope, Morrisons Troon Community Champion Amy Rucroft, launched a ‘Little Sunshine’ award – to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in their local community throughout the pandemic.
Morrisons in Troon delivered a ‘Little Sunshine’ certificate and gift to Layla Pollock, five, and Brooke Millar, 10, who have been nominated for their contribution to supporting the local community through the pandemic.
Brooke had this to say: “I’m delighted with my gifts from Morrisons community champion. I am so pleased that I was nominated. I really enjoyed surprising people with my random acts of kindness. I like making people feel special, it makes my heart feel happy.”
Layla’s mum, Jen Pollock added: “I’m over the moon that Layla could be a part of this. Reading all the comments made my heart burst. Lockdown was hard for everyone in different ways. I’m just lucky we had Layla to keep us smiling. Such a lovely thing for Morrisons to do”.
Troon store manager Billy Matthews was delighted to meet both girls and hand over their gifts. He was surprised by how busy the girls had been with random acts of kindness not only for people, but for our four-legged friends, too. Well done Brooke and Layla.
