A woman has been left badly shaken after a robbery on a busy road in Paisley. 

The 57-year-old victim was withdrawing money from an ATM machine on Neilston Road when she was approached by a woman around 7.20pm. 

The thief who is thought to be aged between 20 and 30 stole money from the woman. 

The victim was not injured in the incident but police have launched a search for the suspect. 

She is described as white, around 5ft 4ins tall, of slim build with a gaunt appearance.

At the time she was wearing a dark hooded top and facemask. 

Cops are also looking for a man thought to be an accomplice. 

He is white, aged between 25 and 35 years old with a slim to medium build.

He too had a gaunt appearance and was wearing tracksuit trousers and top.

Both suspects ran off and turned into Stock Street.

Detective Sergeant Martin Clark said: “This is a busy road with lots of traffic, so a number of motorists may have captured footage with could assist our enquiries in locating these two people.

"There would also have been plenty of people out last night with the warm weather and I am asking them to think back and consider if they noticed this man and woman, maybe you noticed them loitering in Neilston Road.

"If you have any information, no matter how small, please do pass it on.”
