A man has been arrested and charged after an incident on board a train heading to Prestwick Town train station.
The man was charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon after it was believed he approached two youngsters on a train and demanded money.
British Transport Police attended the train station on Sunday evening, following the reported robbery.
The individual has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police attended Prestwick Town railway station on the evening of Sunday 4 April following a report of a robbery on-board a train.
"A man was arrested and has since been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance".
