Families have given their “heartfelt thanks” to Girvan based children’s charity Children 1st for the support offered during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Children 1st Carrick Family Wellbeing Service, which is based within Girvan Primary School, has offered wrap around support to help children and families during lockdown

The charity also offered emotional support to children and families through virtual sessions, family engagement events and by delivering activity and wellbeing packs.

One Girvan family said the charity has been a lifeline for them during lockdown.

The family, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “It is very difficult to put into words just how much your continued support of our family has meant to us this year.

"We are very grateful for everything you have done for us, without your help this year I know we would have struggled with many of the events of this most unusual year – A heartfelt thanks to you all.”

Michelle Robertson, from the Children 1st Girvan service, said that the whole family support that Children 1st offers is more important than ever as families struggle to cope during the pandemic.

She said: “Families have told us that they need financial, practical and emotional support and that’s exactly what we offer. That wrap around support is making a huge difference to families during this challenging time.

"As this devastating pandemic continues, we will continue to work alongside families to ensure that they receive all the support they need to get through this. This support has only been possible thanks to the funding raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.”

Great work from the team at Children 1st.
