Staff were left shaken as a man robbed an Ayr supermarket stealing £400.
A man entered the Farmfoods store in Main Street and threatened two members of staff at around 6.40pm on Friday [March 26],before making off with approximately £400.
No one was injured in the incident, however, staff have been left badly shaken by what has happened.
The suspect is described as white, around 5 ft. 10 inches in height, with a medium build.
He had a gaunt appearance, was unshaven and had discoloured teeth. He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a khaki jacket with a light coloured fur-trimmed hood and red training shoes with white markings.
Officers are checking CCTV images for any relevant information which could assist the inquiry.
Enquiries carried out have shown there were customers within the store just prior to the incident and officers are appealing to these people to contact them.
Detective Constable Janet Ferguson said: “This store is popular with the local community and I’m sure people would have seen this man. Perhaps you saw him before he entered the story or maybe you saw him leave the premises. I would ask you to think back and if you have even a small piece of information, then please do pass it on.
“I would add that additional officers will be on patrol in the area to provide reassurance to the local community. Anyone with concerns can approach these officers.”
