A serial flasher was seen exposing himself to a group of schoolgirls on a cycle path in Troon.

Several incidents have been reported of the man jogging on or near the cycle path at Darley Golf Course that runs from Marr College to the railway bridge (known locally as the flyover) at Barassie Railway Station.

He is described as being 40 to 55-years-old, around 5 to 6ft tall, of a slim build with grey balding hair.

At the time of the incidents the man was wearing grey or black shorts that may have been too small a fit for him and possibly a navy beanie hat.

In the latest incident a number of teenage girls were walking on the path around 8.30am on Thursday, 18 March, 2021, when the man passed them, stopped and then ran back towards them.

Similar incidents which are also under investigation happened at this location, and in a lane near to Troon cemetery leading to Willockston Road, before Christmas.

Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Area Commander at South Ayrshire said: “We are asking the public to get in touch if they think they know this man or if they have witnessed similar incidents.

“These incidents are disturbing for those involved and although no one has been physically harmed, they have been left upset and shaken. I would like to reassure the public that officers are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace this person and additional patrols, in both uniform and plain clothes, will be in the area over the coming days.

“If anyone has any information that could help with our enquiries then please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2288 of Thursday, 18 March 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
