Two teenage boys have been arrested for vandalism to numerous cars and an alleged theft in Ayr.
On the evening of Sunday, February 21, police received reports of vandalism to a number of cars in the area.
Following enquiries by local officers, two boys, aged 13 and 14, have been charged with these incidents and also for an alleged theft in Ayr town centre.
Both boys will be reported to the Children's Reporter.
Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Area Commander at South Ayrshire said "I am aware of the distress and inconvenience these crimes caused to the victims and the disgust from the wider public following media reporting of these incidents.
"Enquiries were undertaken and following a further incident of alleged theft in the town centre today the boys were traced and reported.
"I would like to thank those members of the public who assisted with police enquiries following these incidents".
