Ayrshire College staff are being put through their paces by students in a workplace walking challenge throughout the month of February.
The competition has been organised by HND Fitness students as part of their annual #PassingPositivity event, with staff members forming teams and walking as far as possible this month.
Each week, the teams will be kept up to date with the current guidelines around exercise, to ensure all walks comply with current restrictions. Each team will also have a student team leader assigned to them who will provide motivational content and support throughout the challenge.
Stephen Leckey, Sport & Fitness lecturer at Ayrshire College, said: “It has been, and still is, a really challenging time for us all at the moment. Even finding time to stay active has been difficult, but it is important that we continue to engage in physical activity to ensure our sustained positive mental and physical health.”
Lisa Little, Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor at Ayrshire College said:”It’s great to be able to take part in the walking challenge, as walking is great for the mind and body. It’s great to get out for fresh air, exercise and enjoy what our local areas have on offer.”
