A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged after £5,000 worth of Class A drugs were seized during a raid at an address in Prestwick and Ayr.
The man was charged with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act after police executed drugs warrants at an address in Outdale Avenue, Prestwick and Queens Court, Sandgate, Ayr.
Officers recovered a quantity of alleged Class A controlled drugs valued at £5,000 and a four figure sum of cash was also seized.
The man will appear in court at a later date.
Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Area Commander at South Ayrshire, said: “Today’s operation once again shows the efforts we continue to make to impact on the supply of controlled drugs and disrupt the activities of those who involve themselves in such criminality.
“Through our public consultation exercises we know the concern the public has over those who deal drugs in local communities. We asked the public what matters, the public told us what is important and today’s recovery shows we do act on public concerns.
“I would encourage the public to contact us with any information they may have that could assist us in dealing with crime in their local area.
"Please call us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
