Two of the victims of a tragic car crash in Bothwell on Friday have been named locally.

Three people tragically died in the crash on Blairston Avenue near its junction with Bothwell Road including a woman, 30, and two men aged 36 and 62. 

Tributes have now been paid to Mandy McCallum, 30, and Jamie Williamson, 36. 

Another two people were hospitalised following the crash which involved a Vauxhall Astra. 

A 31-year-old man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Wishaw in critical condition, while a 42-year-old man is stable.

Jamie's mum posted the tragic tribute to her son on social media on Friday. 

She wrote: "It’s with a heavy heart that I have to write this post but this morning I got news that my son Jamie had passed away in a car crash."

Her other son Sam is in hospital following the incident. 

She added: "Me and my family are absolutely heartbroken with this news.

"Rest in peace my baby."

Meanwhile, friends also posted tributes to 30-year-old Mandy McCallum. 

One heartbroken friend wrote: "Life can be so cruel and I just hope you're in a better place now.

"Thoughts go out to your family esp your mum and little boy.

"If your star is as bright as your character then you will be the brightest star in the sky."

Cops are still carrying out investigations into the crash.
