A PRESTWICK author hopes her new book can ‘spread happiness’ while readers are stuck in lockdown.

Margaret L Moore, 59, has released ‘From Sri Lanka with Love: a tapestry of travel tales centred around a trip to the South Asian country in 2017 with her husband of 33 years, Douglas.

Margaret has visited countries across including Iceland, America, India, Hong Kong, Norway, Spain, Italy, South Africa, Canada, Austria and Australia.

And the vast collection of fond memories from her travels has provided the material to collate the book.

Margaret told the Advertiser: “I have a terrible memory, but when I am on holiday I write a diary.

“It gradually got to the stage, I was emailing the newsletters back to people, all my friends and family started telling me ‘you should write a book’.

Margaret has approached the book to make readers feel like they are on holiday.

She said: “It’s written in the style of a diary, each chapter is a different day out and about as if we are chatting to our friends.

“Each story links in to experiences related to that topic.

Margaret has been delighted with feedback from the book.

She said: “It has been good to hear that people feel like they are having a holiday by reading it, it’s a bit of escapism from the lockdown.

““It makes my day if I get a message from someone, my main is to make other people happy.

“I know I’m not going to be rich or famous but if I can spread happiness I’ve achieved what I’ve set out to do.”

Margaret has been delighted that the community have also backed her book, which is available locally at J Brown newsagents.
