A BRAVE Ayr supermarket worker who beat breast cancer has spoken about her battle to raise more awareness.

Marian Jardine has told of about her fight against the illness, as part of Asda’s Tickled Pink Campaign.

The dedicated Asda Ayr staff member, who has worked in the store for 35 years, was diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years ago but has since made a full recovery.

She now uses her experiences to help others and is lending her full support to the campaign which runs throughout October, to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Now and Coppafeel.

Over the course of her time in Asda Ayr, Marian has helped other colleagues with similar experiences, reassuring them and passing on messages of how to stay strong and look after yourself.

Marian said: “I had brilliant support every step of the way and I’ve got a fantastic network of friends and family – Ayr is such a small place so basically everyone knows me.”

She added:“I truly believe that I’m here today to tell the tale of my journey and help others.

"In the past, people didn’t talk about cancer, but I believe in talking about it. I would like to think that if I can help just one person by sharing my journey, then that is enough.

“ Early detection is the key point and if you do find anything unusual, it is time to get it checked.

"Our community champion Karen has shown me the TikTok Move For Boobs dance that Tom Malone has made to show everyone how to check themselves. It’s a great wee dance and something I’ll have to learn”
