The much-anticipated return of Saltcoats' premiere nightclub has taken another step-forward after the new owners applied for a premises licence.
Metro Reloaded Ltd, the company behind the renovations of the former popular nightspot on Hamilton Street, had its application for the granting of a licence considered by North Ayrshire Council yesterday.
The application, sought under Section 45, is for a provisional licence which can be made despite the premises not being ready.
In February, the Herald revealed the first sneak-peek of the work going into transforming the dilapidated disco into a modern community and event hub.
The anonymous duo had been working hard on repairing the roof, which had partially collapsed, as well as cleaning up flooding all over the floors.

But work has continued on the former Regal Cinema building during lockdown.
A decision on whether to grant the licence has been deferred while more information can be gathered.
