AN AYR family have paid tribute to their beautiful baby boy who died just days after he was born – as they seek to thank the hospital who did ‘everything they could’ for him.

Holly Wallace, 27, and her husband Andrew Wallace, 31, lost their baby Brody from sepsis, which was brought on from an infection called Group B Step.

The tot was taken from Crosshouse to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, where he was given round the clock care from amazing doctors and nurses.

Ayr Advertiser:

He was cared from June 14 to June 19 when he sadly passed away.

Just months on, the family want to help the amazing staff at the Glasgow hospital who cared for Brody and gave Holly and dad Andrew the chance to see him every night, with pictures sent to them as they weren’t able to stay in the hospital.

The couple want to raise money in his memory to give something back and they have been amazed with the response from friends and family.

Holly told the Advertiser: “We as a family have been devastated by what happened.

“We want to raise money for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital in memory of our beautiful Brody.

“The support we received from them was second to none and they couldn’t have done any more for us.

“One thing that brought us so much comfort was getting pictures sent to us in the middle of the night, as we weren’t able to stay at the hospital.

“The amazing nursing team used iPads which are all charity funded.

“They put us up in a hotel in Glasgow because the Ronald MacDonald house where families normally

stay was closed due to restrictions.”

Holly has recently started selling Body Shop from home as a hobby and decided to raffle a Christmas hamper full of the beauty products.

But in a matter of weeks she has received over 40 prizes to be raffled off, with vouchers for local businesses, spa days and home decorating jobs being offered.

Holly has thanked the incredible support from everyone so far.

She said: “We’ve got amazing friends and family who have been there for us during this really difficult time.

“We just want to thank them all for their support.”
