A woman remains in hospital after being hit by a train this morning in North Ayrshire.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on the railroad between Glengarnock and Lochwinnoch at around 7am this morning.
The British Transport Police (BTP) were called after reports of a casualty on the track just outside Beith.
Services between Glasgow Central and Largs, Ayr and Ardrossan Harbour were subject to delays and alterations from until around 10.45am this morning.

A spokesperson for BTP said: "British Transport Police officers were called to a stretch of track just outside Beith at 7.10am this morning (01/10) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and a woman was taken to a local hospital.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
A ScotRail spokesperson said: “Services in Ayrshire were subject to delay and alteration today. Sadly, this was due to a person being struck by a train.
“Anyone affected by this incident can contact Samaritans for free of charge, any time, from any phone, on 116 123.”
