TWO men have been arrested in connection with a number of thefts in streets across Irvine.
A 26-year-old and 36-year-old were arrested and charged after the spate of alleged thefts including one in Martin Avenue.
Both men have been released on an undertaking and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police launched an investigation after a number of thefts across the town were reported.
Officers have reminded residents to ensure their cars and homes are securely locked.
Locality Policing Inspector Andy Dolan, from Irvine said: "I’d like to offer my thanks to members of the local community for their help and co-operation with this matter.
"I would also like to remind people to ensure their vehicles and homes are securely locked up and valuables are kept out of sight where possible.
"Anyone with any concerns regarding crime in their community can contact us in the knowledge that we will respond quickly and appropriately."
