ROADWORKS on the A77 south of Ayr will take place this week with delays expected over two days.

The works will resurface a stretch of 0.8km at Auchendrane starting from Thursday, October 1 between 7.30am and 6pm and on Friday, October 2.

A convoy traffic management system will be put in place to allow the works to go ahead.

Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland are carrying out the project as part of the management of the trunk road.

Strict physical distancing is being followed throughout the project.

Alan Murray, Assistant Planned Maintenance Manager said:“This is an important section of the trunk road network, and as such is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working.”

Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journeys, in order to travel through the convoy system. Motorists looking for live trunk road updates can visit trafficscotland.org or follow @trafficscotland on Twitter.
