A 21-year-old man has died after a boat overturned on Snipe Loch near Coylton last night, Sunday, September 27.
Emergency services carried out a major rescue operation at the site as two helicopters and a number of fire engines, ambulances and police vehicles raced to the scene at around 6.35pm.
The air ambulance and Coastguard helicopters left the scene just after 7pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 21 year-old man has died after a boat overturned on Snipe Loch, near Coylton around 6.05pm on Sunday, 27 September, 2020.
"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
