A crowd of protesters gathered in the Carmyle area of Glasgow last night. 

Multiple officers and riot vans were called to the scene after around 100 people gathered. 

Locals claimed the protest was sparked by rumours that a sex offender was living in the area.

No arrests were made last night. 

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 7pm on Wednesday, 24 September, we were made aware of a crowd gathered outside a property on Estate Road, in the Carmyle area of Glasgow.

"Officers attended and engaged with the group who later dispersed. No arrests have been made."
