KEY workers at University Hospital Ayr have had their break space brightened up thanks to a donation from Dobbies Garden Centre.
The team from Dobbies’ Ayr store have installed planters in the hospital’s health and wellbeing garden to show appreciation for the crucial role healthcare workers play in the community.
The project is a long term investment as it sees the garden now blooming with perennial plants which will flower every year, allowing hospital staff to enjoy their breaks their season after season.
Dobbies has cemented its place as the UK’s leading garden centre retailer with the company now owning 68 stores nationwide, 12 of which are in Scotland.
This donation to the hospital is part of its mission to nurture connections between people, the community and the environment.
Dobbies CEO Graeme Jenkins expressed his joy after seeing the project go ahead.
He said: “We’re delighted to have been able to show our support for the key workers who have been taking care of the whole community throughout the year.
“Thank you to the team in Ayr for creating these planters, we hope they bring enjoyment to all.”
Dobbies hope to provide more outdoor displays for the hospital in the near future as part of an ongoing partnership.
