A GANG of yobs put drivers at risk as they threw rocks from a bridge onto traffic below near one of Ayrshire’s busiest roads.
Motorists were in disbelief to see the hard objects being hurled off a pedestrian bridge over the A78 near the Riverside Lodge Hotel in Irvine on Saturday, September 12.
Police were called after a driver’s car was hit.
Officers raced to the scene and searched the area but were unable to find those responsible.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “At around 4.10pm on Saturday, September 12 police received a report of a group of youths throwing rocks from a bridge above the A78 near to the Riverside Lodge Hotel in Irvine.
“Officers attended and carried out a search of the area, however did not trace any youths in connection with the incident.”
