AN APP that provides information to those with conditions such as autism or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has been launched in Ayrshire.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran have launched a dedicated Neurodiversity information app along with the three Health and Social Care Partnerships in the region.

The app has been developed to provide information for people seeking help for themselves or someone they know with conditions such as autism, ADHD, learning disability or fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.

The free app provides a range of information, including details of local services, peer support, charities and links to helpful websites.

David Campbell, autism programme coordinator, said; “Diagnosis for conditions such as autism, ADHD, and FASD can be a long process. Even after diagnosis, many individuals and their families can find the task of searching for trusted, local and national information and support difficult. For professionals too, it can be difficult to find the right supports to direct people towards.

“By creating one central space with trusted information we hope to support people through their journey to diagnosis and beyond.”
