CUMNOCK Juniors boss Tony McInally insists that he’s happy with the squad he’s assembled so far for the 2020/21 season.

However, the 'Nock gaffer admits he’ll never stop searching for better quality to recruit.

McInally has signed eight new players so far ahead of the new West of Scotland Football League campaign.

He told the Chronicle: “I wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I didn’t always want to strengthen. If there’s a better player out there I’ll try do everything I can to get them for this club.

“The players we’ve recruited this summer, such as Nathan Baird, Sean McKenzie and Kyle McAusland, they’re better than what we had previously.

“I’ve also been able to keep a hold of our best players from last season’s squad. Overall, I’m happy with the way things are shaping up, but I’ll always be on the lookout for ways to improve.

“We’re looking at a couple of boys as well who’ve come in on trial. Maybe they’re lacking that bit of fitness at this moment in time or they’ve taken a spell away from the game, so we’ll assess them and then work out if we want to bring them on board soon.”
