Police are appealing for help to trace a man reported missing from Barshare.

Alastair Murray, 63, was last seen leaving his home address in the Campbell Court area around 9.45am this morning, Saturday, August 15, and has not been seen or heard from since with growing concern for his welfare.

Alastair is described as being 5ft 7ins tall, frail looking and of a slim build with brown hair that his going grey and balding.

He has an eagle tattoo on his arm with the word “Ali” written at the bottom. At the time he went missing he is believed to have been wearing a pair of dark grey jeans, a dark blue zipper top with a pair of brown boots.

Sergeant Graeme Smith of the Cumnock police station said: “Along with his family, we are becoming increasingly concerned for Alastair’s welfare and are keen to locate him as soon as possible.

“This is completely out of character for Alastair and we would urge anyone who may have seen him to contact us. Similarly, if Alastair is reading this, let us know you are safe and well.”
