Dementia Friendly Prestwick is a local charity, set up to help support local people and to raise awareness of what living with dementia can mean.
They have been providing weekly lunches and activity packs for some older people in Prestwick - people for whom isolation and loneliness is having a big impact on after securing some funding from Life Changes Trust and from the Corra Foundation.
Dr Philippa Whitford MP who joined their delivery route recently said: “It was lovely to get out and about in Prestwick today with Julie and the team of Dementia Friendly Prestwick.
We were delivering their ‘Bags of Support’ - delicious home-made soup, a sandwich and a slice of (husband) Hans’s German Teacake. The Bags also include simple games or an activity each week for those who are staying at home.”
