Whiteley’s Retreat recently gave out a heartfelt thank you to all of the garden volunteers who each visited at least once a week during the lockdown to look after the gardens.
Each of the volunteers were given their own day and area to look after throughout the period, keeping within the regulations.
Volunteer Helen Gallacher, said: “Myself and my son James have spent many, many hours in the garden at Whiteleys along with a few select volunteers (under very strict lockdown/social distancing restrictions) over the last few months, every minute of it a pleasure and from the bottom of our hearts for your very kind comments.
“Being part of this wonderful team has been a lifesaver, being able to continue volunteering for Whiteleys during lockdown certainly has helped James and myself to during this unpredictable, stressful time.
“I would like to thank Maxine Allan and Bernard Smith, for their support throughout this difficult time, for allowing us to keep gardening.”
