PRESTWICK Tennis and Fitness has restarted its adult tennis classes after nearly four months since they were forced to stop due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All classes were cancelled in mid-March after Scotland went into lockdown.

A further relaxation of the rules now means that the club can run adult classes again with a maximum of four households able to attend coaching at any one time but only on outdoor courts.

When participating in classes, where possible participants should avoid touching surfaces, sharing equipment or touching their mouth and face.

Physical distancing is required before and after sessions for adults and 12-17 year olds. All indoor courts remained shut at this stage.

Beginners coaching will take place on Mondays from 1.30pm-3.30pm and on Thursdays 5.30pm-7pm.

Team coaching will be held on Wednesdays from 1.30pm-3.30pm with another session from 6.30pm-8.30pm on the same day.

Cardio tennis will also be on offer for those players looking for a high energy fitness challenge on Fridays from 10am-11am.

Junior tennis summer camps are also continuing throughout the summer at Prestwick and at Ayr Fort on the outdoor courts with children aged 11 not required to comply with physical distancing rules.

Booking beforehand is mandatory on 01292 474700.
