A TEENAGER has been snared by police after online footage emerged of a Prestwick assault.
A 16-year-old woman has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the incident near to Semple Road on Wednesday, July 15 around 9pm.
Police were made aware of the footage which was circulating online.
A spokesperson for police in South Ayrshire said: "We can now confirm that a 16 year old woman has been identified and reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with an alleged assault near to Semple Road, Prestwick about 9pm on Wednesday, July 15.
"We are aware of local concerns in relation to this incident and the footage shared online and would always encourage anyone with concerns about crime in their community to call us on 101, or in an emergency to dial 999."
