Biffy CLYRO fans are in for a treat as the Ayrshire-born chart-toppers are set to release their new album in August – a record packed full of power, punch and edge.

‘A Celebration of Endings’ is the band’s ambitiously eclectic new album which will be released on August 14, with recent tracks ‘Instant History’ and ‘End Of’ giving a tantalising taster of what’s in store.

The tracks embrace both fresh sonics as well as the visceral power of Biffy’s roots which go all the way back to 2007 when the Kilmarnock rock band shot to fame with album ‘Puzzle’ with favourites including ‘Machines’.

Ayr Advertiser:

Simon Neil, Biffy’s frontman, said: “This is a very forward-looking album from a personal perspective and a societal perspective. The title is about seeing the joy in things changing, rather than the sadness. Change means progression and evolution. It’s about trying to take back control.”

The band are building further anticipation for their eighth album by unveiling new single ‘Tiny Indoor Fireworks’ which launched as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record.

‘Tiny Indoor Fireworks’ is a rock anthem in every way – snappy, melodic and light on its feet while feeling so natural you could imagine it was conceived in minutes.

Lyrically it’s a joyous declaration of vowing to change yourself for the better, but its key line ‘pray for the better days’ has taken on a new sense of poignancy in the current situation.

Ayr Advertiser:

‘Tiny Indoor Fireworks’ came around the time Biffy Clyro played Radio 1’s virtual Big Weekend UK 2020 in May, showing how the band are a force to be reckoned with both live in concert and via livestream. The band continued to be busy during lockdown as they joined the Live Lounge Allstars for their take on Foo Fighters’ ‘Times Like These’.

Simon Neil has also delved into the band’s extensive back catalogue with a regular series of acoustic sessions.

‘A Celebration of Endings’ is shaping up to be another huge era in Biffy Clyro’s career. Working again with Rich Costey, the band’s approach to the album was to keep things fresh, surprise themselves and each other and push things to their furthest extremes.

The result is a forward-thinking set which embraces the joy of things changing and progressing as well as the importance of standing up for what you believe in.

Simon said: “We often remember times when we had nowhere to stay and we were eating food off a radiator. It reminds us how lucky we are.”
