Inspire is a disability sport inclusion project targetting the community of Girvan and South Carrick.

During lockdown, the children and young people who attend have been kept busy with different activity challenges set by the Inspire coaches and volunteers.

They have also been having fun setting challenges for each other and taking part in weekly, online family quizzes as a way of staying connected to each other.

Inspire Girvan and South Carrick made a fantastic achievement last week as they were awarded Community Project of the year at the South Ayrshire Sport Awards.

The team have done an outstanding job at supporting all the members of Inspire during lockdown and will continue to do so in the future.

Scotland is in lockdown. Shops are closing and newspaper sales are falling fast. We're not exaggerating when we say that the future of the Ayr Advertiser, and the vital local news service we've provided since 1803, is under threat.

Please consider supporting the Ayr Advertiser in whatever way you can – by paying just 90p for a copy of the paper, when you're shopping for essential supplies for yourself and others, or by subscribing to our e-edition here.

Thanks – and stay safe.
