SOUTH AYRSHIRE councillors will not take a summer recess this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The move will be a first for South Ayrshire Council, and councillors have vowed to be available to help constituents and continue to make decisions over the coming months.
A spokesperson for South Ayrshire Council said: “As we cope with the unprecedented situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, all members have agreed that we will not take the planned summer recess, in order to address any issues without delay.
“As such, councillors will be present and available to continue to make decisions and assist constituents over the summer.”
