A 30-year-old man was rushed to hospital after falling from the Warrix Interchange bridge.
Police confirmed the man was taken to Crosshouse after the incident at around 9.30am on Sunday at the A78.
While circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear it's understood the man suffered injuries through falling from the interchange bridge - with the road reopened within an hour.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police can confirm they were called to an incident at approx 9.27am on Sunday, June 28 at the Warrix Interchange, on the A78 near to Irvine. At this time a partial road closure at the junction was put in place.
"A 30-year-old Irvine man was conveyed to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment, where he was admitted for observation.
"The road was fully reopened at 10.30am."
