Cumnock Juniors FC have absorbed Glenburn 2003s into their academy for the 2020/21 season.

The team, managed by Neil Jardine, Louis Anderson and Roy McCulloch will play on Friday nights.

They will work closely with Tony McInally and the Cumnock Juniors FC management team.

Neil Jardine said: “After six successful years as Glenburn 2003s youth team, the coaches and players are delighted, excited and appreciative for the opportunity to represent Cumnock Juniors in the Development League.

“We are under no illusion that this will be a challenging, but rewarding league and we are all 100 per cent committed to the hard work and dedication that lies ahead to continue the players development with the end goal of supporting the first team squad.”

A spokesperson for Cumnock Juniors FC said: “To ensure the pathway to senior football is available to youth players in the area, the club is delighted to confirm that Glenburn 2003s have agreed to become our Development Team. Everyone at Townhead Park welcomes them on board.

“The Development League promises to be an exciting place for youngsters to play and develop and we warmly welcome Neil and the boys to Cumnock Juniors.”

Glenburn 2003s were most recently successful in the West of Scotland YFL U16 League where they were declared champions in 2018/19.

Cumnock Juniors FC will be competing in the new West of Scotland Football League, Tier Six as of next season, when play resumes as part of the restructure of the national football leagues.
