AYR’S shopping centre is set to return next week with increased security to help shoppers adhere to social distancing.
A number of stores including High Street giant Debenhams will re-open from Monday, June 29 at Ayr Central.
Bosses at the shopping centre have been working on plans to ensure social distancing is abided by. The measures in place will include enhanced cleaning regimes, increased security presence, hand sanitising stations and social distancing signage.
A spokesperson for Ayr Central, said: “We can confirm that a number of stores at Ayr Central will re-open from Monday, June 29. We are following government guidelines to keep staff and visitors at Ayr Central safe, and to support the national efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19.
“As part of this, we are working with retailers to develop detailed plans to ensure staff and customers will be safe around the centre and to ensure social distancing is abided by.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation during this difficult time and to express appreciation to our fantastic team who are working very hard in challenging circumstances.”
