Eighteen new warehouses are set to be built at a Girvan distillery.

Planning permission to develop 18 storage warehouses at William Grant and Sons Curragh Distillery site north of Grangestone Industrial Estate have been given the go-ahead

The plans, which include associated infrastructure and landscaping, were submitted in November last year and approved last week.

Planning documents state: “These proposals form part of an expansion to the existing distillery operations run by William Grant and Sons Distillers Ltd (WGSD) on land wholly within the ownership of WGSD.

“Additional warehouse capacity is needed at the existing Girvan Distillery to meet current demands of the business and to prepare for increasing demand in the future and in the future.”
