DURING the coronavirus pandemic key workers across South Ayrshire have been doing everything they can to keep us and our loved ones safe.

Whilst we have all been doing our bit to stay at home and stop the spread of COVID-19, our key workers have been going above and beyond in our communities.

From the nurses in our hospitals throwing themselves in the frontline of the virus or ensuring patients of other conditions are still given the best of care.

To care workers visiting those with complex needs at home, or keeping our elderly loved ones well looked after in care homes, each one of them has been key to our fight against coronavirus.

Or even the supermarket worker who has helped keep food and essentials readily available for us all.

At the Ayr Advertiser, we want to acknowledge the everyday key workers who are heroes in the communities they serve.

But we need your help, do you know a relative or friend who has worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic?

We want to hear their stories, their background, and why they deserve to be recognised.

Last month we told the heart warming story of a daughter who nominated her mum who has been working at a Troon care home.

Every week we want to shine a light on our key workers and highlight them, letting communities across South Ayrshire know who they are and that their work is appreciated.

All you have to do is nominate the person you think deserves recognition.

After clapping for our key workers, it’s time to highlight every one of them.

To nominate you can fill out our easy form, by clicking here.
