THE new West of Scotland League set up has been unveiled — with Auchinleck, Cumnock and Glenafton in the top division as expected.

Last week, league chiefs revealed how the new 67-team formation will look as they shift away from the old junior divisions.

There will be three conference divisions in the line-up that will set underneath the new 20-team top flight.

The top league in the set up will be known as Tier Six, as it shows the pathway to the Lowland League for the winners of the division.

The formation of the four divisions have a similar look to the previous junior leagues which were left at the end of the season – which came to a premature halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The placings were created by using seedings from the final West Region Junior FA standings.

Talbot, one of the favourites to take the title in the first season, will join Tier Six with Cumnock and Glenafton as they aim to battle it out for a shot to move up the Scottish pyramid system.

They will be joined by fellow Ayrshire rivals Irvine Meadow, Kilwinning Rangers, Beith Juniors, Kilbirnie, Largs Thistle, Darvel Hurlford and Troon.

Last season’s McBookie Premiership winners Auchinleck will be one of the favourites for promotion via the new set up. Bonnyton, Clydebank and Pollok also make up the top flight.

Conference A will include Lugar Boswell and Muirkirk, with Kello Rovers in Conference B.

Due to COVID-19, a date for the start of the season has yet to be set.
