AN AYRSHIRE man is showing his support for key workers during the coronavirus outbreak by offering them free essential glass polishing and scratch repairs.

James McDonald, who runs Diamond Glass Solutions, made the offer to frontline staff as a gesture of saying thanks for all the work they are doing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr McDonald, who has two daughters working in the care sector, has been running his business for five years.

Recently he was working in Birmingham and Manchester polishing glass to ensure that key workers were are able to carry out their jobs.

He said: “I always believe that charity begins at home and I just want to help in any small way I can.

“The response has been great. Some people are very surprised that I do this work for free but I cannot imagine what the frontline workers are going through just now so it is just a way of saying thanks and giving something back.”

“I hope by doing this it gives key workers one less thing to worry about and they can get any issues fixed sooner rather than later.”
