PRESTWICK Tennis and Fitness Centre has scooped two accolades at the prestigious Tennis Scotland Awards.

The awards, which seek to recognise the achievements, work and dedication of individuals, clubs, teams, tournaments and programmes across the country, saw the Ayrshire venue win ‘Club of the Year’ and the ‘Disability Award’.

A spokesperson for the club said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded Disability Programme of the Year and Club of the Year by Tennis Scotland.

“We would like to thank all the staff and coaches at the club for all the work they put in all year round but more importantly we would like to thank all of our wonderful members who make the club what it is and we cannot wait until it is safe for us all to get back to doing what we all love.”

It is hoped that all winners will be recognised at an awards ceremony to be held at a later date after the coronavirus lockdown is lifted.

Blane Dodds, Tennis Scotland chief executive, said: “Each year, the awards give us the chance to recognise the incredible achievements of individuals, clubs, teams, tournaments and programmes across the country.

“We were truly overwhelmed by the quality of nominations we received so each and every winner should be very proud of their achievement, as should everyone who was shortlisted for an award.”

All the winnerswill now go forward to be considered for the LTA Tennis Awards national shortlist.
