A BOLD message of thanks has been painted on the roads going into Ayrshire hospitals treating COVID-19 patients.

The display has been placed by Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA), outside Crosshouse and Ayr hospitals to thank heroic staff on the frontline of coronavirus.

The road marking will be there for all the nurses, doctors and other NHS staff who are driving into work.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran thanked ARA for carrying out the work as they paid tribute to their staff.

A spokesperson said: “We are grateful to all NHS staff who are coming into work each day to help fight COVID-19. And thanks to the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, staff will see a massive thank you message on the road into University Hospitals Ayr and Crosshouse.”
