THE trial of the man charged with murdering youth worker Emma Faulds appears to be set to go ahead later than planned.

Ross Willox is accused of killing the 39 year-old in Monkton on April 28 2019.

The 40 year-old is also alleged to have attempted to defeat the ends of justice including a claim he disposed of Emma's body in Glentrool Forest, Dumfries and Galloway.

Willox - who denies the charges - had appeared at the High Court in Glasgow last December where a trial of June 1 had been fixed.

A hearing then last month was told that date may still be possible despite the coronavirus pandemic.

A further calling of the case had been expected to occur later this week.

But, it emerged that the continued preliminary hearing has now been set for June 19 - more than two weeks after the planned trial.

A new date for trial would likely then be fixed at a future hearing.
