Staff, students and families at the Scottish Rural College gathered at the Ayr campus back in 2015 to celebrate 26 star students at their annual prize giving.

Three special prizes were open to students across all subject areas.

There were also awards for each subject area, ranging from agriculture, Applied bioscience, horticulture, garden design and sport and recreation management.

Andrew Simpson, 25, won the Weir of Courance Prize and the SRUC Prize for the best first year student.

Joanne King, 28, received the Friends of Auchincruive Prize which recognises the Best First Year Student at the Ayr Campus.

The audience were welcomed by Ayr Campus deputy dean David Hume who praised the students for their achievements.

They were also addressed by acting principal Janet Swadling.
