AN online platform tested in Ayrshire hospitals will be rolled out across the nation after improving the lives of cancer patients.

My Clinical Outcomes (MCO) will be run across Scotland after successful tests in Ayr and Crosshouse Hospitals.

The trial successfully collected data for patients with blood cancer patients, with the collected data used to improve the quality of life of patients.

The award-winning technology analyses side effects and symptoms experienced by patients throughout the diagnosis, treatment and long-term care phases - providing clinicians with an accurate understanding of their condition and how they are responding to treatment.

The project, which started as a trial through the Cancer Innovation Challenge in 2017, is now in routine long-term use supporting the care of chemotherapy patients at University Hospital Crosshouse and Ayr Hospital – with many patients positively benefitting.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Dr Peter Maclean, said: “I have found the whole experience working with My Clinical Outcomes to have been refreshingly positive.

“It gives me hope, that with the right collaboration, an amazing amount can be achieved within the NHS setting.”
